Air Partner the global aviation services group, today reports that its charter broking, 24/7 Operations Department (“Ops24”) and Istanbul office are preparing to support clients needing to move people, freight and aid in or out of Turkey during this turbulent period.
Air Partner has a number of Emergency Planning Department (“EPD”) clients in Turkey, these clients have contracted Air Partner to prepare an evacuation plan and standby to repatriate staff in times of crisis. Turkey is situated at the heart of energy trade routes from the Middle East, Central Asia and Russia to European markets, and a number of Air Partner’s EPD clients, who are in the energy sector, have been in contact with them to discuss the situation in Turkey.
Air Partner has significant experience working in extreme crisis situations to evacuate people and deliver aid. During the Arab Spring, which coincided with several natural disasters, Air Partner worked around the clock to evacuate more than 12,000 people from across the Middle East in just six weeks. The Group also transported 600 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Philippines when Typhoon Haiyan devastated the region.
Richard Smith, Head of Products at Air Partner said: “We have emergency evacuation clients in Turkey with pre-planned evacuation subscriptions and some have been in touch. While nobody is pulling people out now, Air Partner is monitoring the situation and ensuring we have appropriate plans to get clients out if they decide to repatriate staff. Our 24 hour a day operations team are well placed to help and we have an office on the ground in Istanbul which is keeping a close eye on developments.”
Founded in 1961, Air Partner operates 24/7 year-round and has 20 offices globally. The Company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is ISO 9001:2008 compliant for commercial airline and private jet solutions worldwide.
