Desert Jet has broken ground on its long-planned ramp expansion at Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (KTRM), advancing a key infrastructure investment designed to accommodate rising business aviation activity. The development will expand available ramp space, reinforcing the airport’s operational capabilities and positioning it to support the sustained growth of both the aviation sector and the wider Coachella Valley region.

The expanded ramp will deliver additional capacity for aircraft operations, enabling Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (KTRM) to accommodate growing levels of business aviation activity while enhancing service for aircraft owners, operators, and visitors traveling to the Coachella Valley.

The project underscores Desert Jet’s long-term commitment to investing in aviation infrastructure at KTRM. Beyond strengthening the airport’s operational capabilities, the investment supports the region’s thriving business community and visitor economy, while creating opportunities for local employment and supporting a range of aviation-related enterprises.

As part of its broader growth strategy at KTRM, Desert Jet also plans to develop two additional hangars following the completion of the ramp expansion, further increasing the airport’s capacity to serve the evolving needs of the business aviation market.

Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport serves as a vital gateway for business and general aviation across the Coachella Valley, providing convenient access to the region’s commercial centers, communities, and premier visitor destinations.

The ramp expansion is expected to enter service by the end of 2026, with Desert Jet planning to provide further updates as construction progresses.

Jared Fox, CEO of Desert Jet commented: “Breaking ground on this expansion marks an exciting milestone for Desert Jet and the continued growth of KTRM. We’ve made a significant commitment to this airport because we believe strongly in its future and its growing importance to business aviation and the Coachella Valley. This expansion is another step in our long-term vision to develop world-class aviation facilities that support our customers, attract new business, and contribute to the region’s economic growth.”
