Work is underway to complete the installation of Esavian Type 126 sliding hangar doors on the new DC Aviation hangar at Al Maktoum Airport, Dubai World Central, Dubai.

This follows the successful installation and operation of similar Esavian doors on the first DC Aviation hangar.

The new doors are a set of multi-directional Esavian Type 126 sliding hangar doors 55,350mm wide by 13,500mm high with a centrally located tailgate increasing the clear opening height to 16,700mm. The door is configured as six individually operated door leaves on three tracks – offering maximum flexibility. Additionally, all door leaves can travel from hangar two to hangar one, allowing a clear opening for a wide variety of business jet aircraft to use the facility.

The doors are clad with a full-height Rodeca translucent panel system and include three personnel doors with no thresholds, to comply with the NFPA 101 Fire Safety Code. There are audio and visual alarms to warn that leaves are in motion and proximity sensors allow accurate movement to the closed position. So-called ‘magic eye’ sensors prevent door leaves colliding.

Ben Pritchard, who heads the Dubai branch of Jewers Doors as GCC Regional Sales Manager, said: "Repeat orders for our Esavian doors, such as this by DC Aviation, are always welcome as a definite statement of customer satisfaction.”
