Desert Jet Center FBO, in collaboration with the EAA Chapter #1116 and Thermal Aviation, is pleased to host the Ford Tri- Motor aircraft, October 6th-8th, at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal, CA, during its annual tour across the U.S. Ford’s Tri-Motor aircraft, nicknamed the “Tin Goose,” was designed to build a new market for airline travel. To overcome concerns about engine reliability, Ford specified three engines and added features for passenger comfort, such as an enclosed cabin. Regarded as the first luxury airliner, the Tri-Motor redefined world travel and marked the beginning of commercial flight.

The Ford Tri-Motor will be on display and available to see, tour, and even fly from the Thermal Airport for those wishing to experience the thrill and excitement aboard this incredible machine. A portion of the funds generated from flight sales and sponsorships will be directed towards the local EAA chapter to support the Young Eagles program, which offers free flights five times a year to the youth of the Coachella Valley, fostering a deep appreciation for aviation. Take to the skies and time travel aboard this historic aircraft for an unforgettable flight experience. EAA Chapter #1116 President Frank Brabec, commented: “We are so thrilled that EAA Headquarters has chosen our local chapter to host this significant piece of aviation history and share it with our community; Seeing it in person so striking as its size, design, and perfectly kept condition are features that pictures and video just cannot capture.”

Desert Jet CEO Jared Fox, said: “It is an absolute honor to host a living piece of history right here at Desert Jet Center. Getting to see such an iconic aircraft in person and learning more about EAA’s tremendous efforts to keep this legendary aircraft flying has been a thrill for the Desert Jet team.”
