This autumn Luxaviation Group and ExecuJet are flying pink for a month to raise awareness around the world to breast and prostate cancer. We are encouraging people to support their regional charities such as Breast Cancer Now and Movember in the UK.

Our #WeFlyPink campaign is close to many of our teams hearts as cancer sadly touches the lives of many. As part of our awareness drive we are proud to share one of our very own colleagues stories on her experience with breast cancer and why awareness campaigns are important to support.

Thank you Joanne for sharing.

 MY CANCER STORY

By: Joanne Rothenburg, Operations Administrator Supervisor, ExecuJet Middle East

A year after having our Breast Cancer Awareness Bake Off at the ExecuJet Middle East office, I can’t believe I’m actually going through it myself after being diagnosed 6 months ago.  As you can imagine it was a great shock to me, to find myself  in this situation, not having had any indication of such an illness.  It’s a good thing you never know what’s round the corner!!

I would like take this opportunity to thank ExecuJet for giving me their total support and being like family to me.  I am surrounded by positive people who are very understanding of my situation, working in these surrounding’s has been very uplifting for me. Working in Dubai, living away from family and friends can be very stressful, but thankfully our team in the Middle East are exceptional, from Senior Management to other levels.

The importance of Breast Cancer awareness is sadly very low key over in the UAE,  working with colleagues from over 18 different countries it has been apparent that this is a very taboo subject.  Luckily with our team, I have been asked by many colleagues to educate their families, sharing my experience.

Finally,  my journey continues and I would like to ask you all to support Breast Cancer Awareness this month!!!!!
