It is a new year and a new era for Reading Regional Airport/General Carl A. Spaatz Field as the authority took over as the sole FBO on the field. Now operating as Reading Aviation, the FBO merged the two prior operations on the airfield into a singular authority-run unit.

Zackary Tempesco, airport director, commented: “The Reading Regional Airport Authority is proud to now oversee the operation of KRDG’s FBO. In doing so, we’re able to better serve as a gateway for a growing part of southeastern Pennsylvania. With a leadership team of forward-thinkers, this operational move will help the authority fulfill its mission to elevate and promote our community’s economic growth, education and connectivity.”

Reading Aviation is conveniently located next to the main terminal on the airfield’s east apron. Those flying in enjoy easy access from all directions. The FBO’s 18,000 square foot building—which previously housed Millenium Aviation—offers guests many amenities, including comfortable passenger and pilot lounges, 1,000 square feet of office space, an on-site restaurant, and a conference room able to seat 10-16 with full A/V capabilities. Reading Aviation also controls over 70,000 square feet of hangar space able to accommodate aircraft up to a Falcon 900.

The facilities will undergo a rebrand and refresh within the next two years to include updated facilities, additional conference space, snooze rooms and day offices. As a full-service FBO, Reading Aviation provides aviators with jet A and 100LL avgas, quick-turn services, towing, cargo handling, planeside access, parking, de-icing, GPU, lav service, potable water, maintenance and detailing. Guests also benefit from rental cars, crew cars, shuttle services, catering, dishwashing, laundry, coffee, ice, Wi-Fi and vending.

The FBO’s suite of services help it support a diverse customer base, including the military, corporate and business aviation, air charter, training, aerial inspection and pipeline patrol, and recreational flights. In conjunction with the FBO’s opening, Reading Aviation elected to partner with branded fuel supplier Avfuel Corporation—the leading independent supplier of aviation fuel and services. With this partnership, Reading Aviation customers gain access to competitive fuel prices with Avfuel Contract Fuel, lucrative rewards with AVTRIP and streamlined payment processing with the Avfuel Pro Card—the FBO’s preferred payment method. The partnership also grants Reading Aviation access to the FAA-approved Avfuel Training System.
