Emperor Aviation, the first Maltese operator working on the Russian business aviation market, published rating of the most popular destinations of business jets based on the results of its operations summer of 2015.
Summer month traditionally are high season, increase in flight activity comparing to the weak performance in January-February 2015. By the end of the summer, the growth is averaged 20%, which allowed the market to be on the level of summer 2014.
Most popular destinations in the June-August 2015 became Nice, Olbia and Vienna, which accounted for 24%, 10.6% and 7% respectively. Despite the fact that international flights are historically making huge share of the traffic of Russian business aviation, summer 2015 indicated a redistribution towards the Russian domestic destinations. Back in summer 2014 the share of domestic flights was 26%, while in June-August 2015 it became already 34%. Moscow default is not involved in the ranking of the most popular destinations, as in / out of it is made of more than 90% of all flights of Russian business aviation.
During the period from June 1 to August 31, the most popular business jets have become medium-sized aircraft - Super-Midsize Jets. According to statistics of Emperor Aviation, this summer 31% of business charter flights were made on business jets Challenger 300. Passengers also chose Cessna XLS jets and Embraer Legacy 600, which have for 10.3% and 9.3% of all charter flights respectively.
