Abu Dhabi-based Royal Jet is the first charter operator in the UAE to receive regulatory approval from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to use enhanced visual system technology in its two recently delivered Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft.

The technology has also been given the go-ahead to be fitted in the two new Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) aircraft that are due to arrive green later this year.
The EVS consists of a Heads-Up Guidance System and a forward-looking infrared camera. The infrared camera provides imaging of the outside environment, including terrain, runway, other aircraft and animals on the Heads-Up Display (HUD). The enhanced vision system increases safety during taxi, take-off and approach in low visibility conditions.
Captain Patrick Gordon, Royal Jet’s acting president and chief executive officer said: “Royal Jet continues to strive to set the benchmark in safety and service in the aircraft charter industry. We flew into 250 airports in over 105 countries last year and this system will provide our flight crews with enhanced vision, which heightens safety.
“We are very impressed with this system and its ability to enhance the safety of our operation. We are proud to have received approval from the GCAA to use the technology and to be the first charter operator to use EVS in the region.”
Royal Jet is currently the world's largest single BBJ operator and operates 11 aircraft – six Boeing Business Jets, two Bombardier Global 5000s, two Bombardier Learjets and one Gulfstream G300.
