Dornier 228 OEM, RUAG Aviation, has secured state-of-the-art medevac stretcher kits from GVH Aerospace. The EASA-approved STC for the installation of the AeroStretcher® Mk IV in the Dornier 228 is offered by RUAG under exclusive contract and is available immediately. The GVH solution has been selected by RUAG to replace the former, now defunct, stretcher product.

“We are pleased to provide an outstanding stretcher solution suitable for all Dornier 228 aircraft. The AeroStretcher® Mk IV reflects the versatility and functionality of the aircraft and ensures stability within, what can be, challenging operating environments,” states Thomas Müller, Product Manager Dornier 228, RUAG Aviation. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Dornier 228, RUAG focuses on ensuring optimum performance capabilities for this and other supplementary aircraft equipment. Thomas Müller continues, “The very straightforward features of the STC are ideal for safeguarding effective medevac missions and also allow the STC to remain an economical solution.”

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Dornier 228 features a modular design for maximum flexibility in all situations: medevac teams are able to transport their patients securely throughout their mission, including transfers to and from the aircraft, thus avoiding disruptions in care conditions; easy stretcher fastening and unfastening within the cabin promotes speed of care and reduces workload; and a multi-fit floor interface system quickly adapts to varying cabin configurations for better responsiveness to passenger and mission needs.

“Our product improvement efforts reflect the needs and operating interests of our Dornier 228 customer base. At the same time, we are dedicated to a proactive approach when it comes to identifying qualified, high performance support products, such as medevac stretchers,” confirms Volker Wallrodt, Senior Vice President Business Jets, Dornier 228 & Components, RUAG Aviation.
