When it comes to choose your business partner, service provider, what are most important things impacting the choice? Passion for quality – this is the very first description that comes to mind regarding Germany’s leading business aviation company .  A company with over 20 years of history and experience, today, DC Aviation offers a broadly diversified portfolio ranging from aircraft management and charter services to business jet maintenance and ground handling services. The Grand Opening of new spacious 6,400 m2 Hangar at Munich/Oberpfaffenhofen Airport was the perfect opportunity to discuss with Michael Kuhn, Chief Executive Officer of the DC Aviation Group. We are glad to share with you the essential:

Q. Can you share with us how DC Aviation landed in Munich – when did you start to look at this opportunity and what research was done before the decision was made?

A. Over the last few years, we have observed that there is an increased demand for a qualified and experienced business jet operator in the Munich area capable of offering a broad variety of services, including hangarage, handling, and aircraft maintenance. Munich is an important industrial location, and the Five Lakes Region is popular with high-net-worth individuals. With the establishment of the Munich branch, DC Aviation has responded to this demand. Only 25 kilometers from the city center, Oberpfaffenhofen Airport is more conveniently located than Munich Airport. Additionally, it offers ideal conditions for us as a business jet operator. With our own parking lot at the hangar, easy check-in, and direct access to the aircraft, transfer times for our customers have been considerably shortened.

Q. Did the pandemic impact the progress of your work?

A. Of course, we also had to overcome some challenges due to the impact of the pandemic. Thanks to our excellent project planning and our highly experienced and well-respected team of architects and service providers, we were able to complete the hangar more or less in time.

Q. What new location do you anticipate for the DC Aviation Group a year from now?

A. Our aim is to offer 360-degree services to our existing clients in the Munich area, as well to clients arriving at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport, with the same high level of quality and safety that we have established at our other locations. Additionally, we would like to win new customers with our full range of in-house services, including hangarage, VIP lounge, handling, and maintenance.
I can very well imagine DC Aviation exploring more locations in the near future and strengthening its presence in all the regions where we already operate.

Q. As a business aviation all-round service provider, can you share the secret of DC Aviation’s long tenure as a leader in the industry?

A. We want to take responsibility for perfect flight operations for our aircraft owners, and we can only do that if we actually have all the relevant processes in-house and thus control them - only very, very few operators can do that, in Europe there are less than a handful.
Our goal has always been to be a partner that you can rely on one hundred percent. We offer the highest level of discreet and personalized service, and we operate perfectly maintained aircraft with excellently trained crews; we meet the highest standards in all safety-related areas. Our philosophy is to provide comprehensive in-house support without the need for external service providers. This includes permanent crews, flight training that goes far beyond the legal requirements, flight planning with licensed flight planners in 24-hour operation up to our own CAMO+ organisation and PART 145 operation for line and base maintenance.
DC Aviation operates one of the largest and most versatile business fleets in Europe and is therefore able to respond to all our clients’ wishes in a prompt, flexible, and efficient manner. A significant part of our focus is to inspire our clients. People who spend a lot of time in the air should perceive a flight with DC Aviation as the highlight of their day: an experience that they always look forward to enjoying over and over again. This is what we at DC Aviation strive for each day and what puts us at the top of the industry.

We would like to thank once again the DC Aviation team for an amazing event in Oberpfaffenhofen Airport!
