The 5th Civil Aviation Training International Forum was successfully held in Sanya, Hainan from September 24th to 25th, 2019. The forum was approved by Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province, the People's Republic of China and Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipality; Hosted by Shanghai Society of Aeronautics, Civil Aircraft Operation Support Technology Sub-committee of CSAA and Shanghai Aerospace Enthusiast's Center; Supported by HNA Group’s Hainan Sky Plumage Flight Training Company; Organized by COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd., Galleon (Shanghai) Consulting Co., Ltd. and Civil Aviation Flight University of China; Co-organized by China Airline Pilots Association.

Nearly 200 leading experts from 79 well-known industry companies such as airlines, associations, aviation companies, aviation training schools, colleges, aircraft manufacturers, simulator manufacturers, participated in this forum and promoted the development of aviation training industry.

In recent years, automation systems have become widely used in today's aviation industry, especially in aircraft cockpits. Not only can it improve fuel efficiency and reduce the unit's working load, but also can help the manual operation, and improve the passenger's comfort. At the same time, excessive reliance on automation may lead to new patterns of error, that’s why new awareness and increased training needs appear.

During the forum, ZHOU Xiaoqing, Deputy General Manager of Flight Management of China Eastern Airlines pointed out that in today's highly automated cockpit environment, the manual maneuvering ability of the unit is decreasing, low-level errors occur during critical periods. Automation systems will be closely connected with the aircraft system, including the operating system. It should follow the principle of safety concept to strengthen the training of manual operation.

The two-day forum was a complete success. This forum aims to enhance the pilot's operational skills and promote the development of the civil aviation industry. The guests gathered in-depth discussions on the status of China's civil aviation industry and the rapid development needs, breaking the tradition, reforming and innovating, and greatly improving the training efficiency of pilots.

The purpose of this forum is to establish a platform for exchanges and cooperation between airlines, aviation training schools and suppliers to solve problems together and explore the development of pilot training. The guests also responded enthusiastically and expressed their understanding of the new hot spots in the industry through this event, getting to know new partners and discovering new business opportunities. Next year, the Civil Aviation Training Forum will be hosted by China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. and it is scheduled to be held in Guangzhou in September 2020. It is expected that more experts will participate in the forum next year to promote the development of the aviation training industry.
