AERO 2027, taking place from April 14-17, 2027, will feature a further developed concept designed to build on the great success of this year’s event. In 2026, 860 exhibitors from 50 countries took part in the global leading trade show for general aviation, business aviation, and air sports. Around 37,000 visitors came to AERO in Friedrichshafen, with approximately half of them holding a pilot´s license.
In 2027, visitors will once again be able to experience the full diversity of the industry at AERO. Glider manufacturers and suppliers, who exhibit at the trade show every two years, will once again complement the 2027 event with the AERO Gliding Expo. Gliding has been an integral part of AERO for many years and, like few other segments, represents the enthusiasm, fascination, and tradition of air sports.
Helicopters will move closer to business aviation and flight schools with their relocation to hall A2. Ultralight helicopters will be presented alongside ultralight and LSA aircraft manufacturers in the B halls. This will showcase the diversity of air sports along the entire B axis of the exhibition grounds more prominently than it has in a long time. Single- and twin-engine aircraft, which form the core of general aviation, will be located in halls A3-A6. In hall A7, start-ups and manufacturers of new propulsion systems, including hydrogen and electric technologies, as well as new aircraft concepts, will present their projects and programs.
Tobias Bretzel, commented: “Following the outstanding success of the 2026 edition, we carefully considered the feedback received from the industry. We are therefore very pleased to offer our exhibitors and visitors an even better segmented and more clearly structured AERO next year, making their participation even more efficient.”

The Static Display, located directly in front of the A halls, ensures short distances between manufacturers’ stands in the halls and on the apron. In the outdoor area, prospective aircraft buyers will also be able to view aircraft in the Pre-Owned Aircraft Area and gain an overview of the used aircraft market.
Business aviation recorded the strongest growth in 2026 and will continue to expand in 2027 in line with industry needs. In response to suggestions from exhibitors and visitors in this segment, the opening times of the core areas of the Business Aviation Show Hub – namely all of hall A1 and the Business Aviation Dome – will be adjusted for AERO 2027 to two and a half days, from April 14-16, 2027, with an early closing time of 2:00 p.m. on the Friday of the trade fair. All other exhibition areas will be open for four days, April 14-17, 2027.
AERO’s extensive program of lectures, conferences and workshops, featuring almost 300 individual events, will be complemented next year by new professional development opportunities as part of the AERO GA Academy and new MRO workshop formats for private pilots and air sports clubs. At the AERO Hydrogen & Battery Summit, researchers, developers, manufacturers, users, and authorities will come together to exchange ideas on new technologies and innovations in aviation.
An air show is also planned for AERO Saturday in 2027, where new aircraft will demonstrate their performance and aerobatic pilots will convey the fascination of air sports. Exhibitors from this year’s AERO can reserve their regular stand location for 2027 until the end of June. More than 65 exhibitors have already booked their participation in AERO 2027.
