The first Aviation Achievement Awards took place this week as part of the Gulf Aviation Networking Event 2015 held at the Burj Al Arab, Dubai. Organisers ITP have introduced the annual honours to recognise the region's most innovative and inspirational organisations and individuals.
The awards follow an application process which was then judged by a committee which focused on unique and exceptional achievement that contributed to the growth, efficiency, safety and advancement of the Gulf’s aviation industry across four specific sectors – airlines, airports, business aviation and service providers. Four winners were selected for each category and the accolades went to: The Awards categories are split into four main sections:
Airline Industry:
Award for Visionary Leadership to H.E Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General, GCAA.
Award for Outstanding Achievement (Supporting Middle East Airline Industry) to Abdul Wahab Teffaha, AACO Secretary General.
Award for Customer Innovation (Loyalty Scheme) to Air Arabia.
Award to mark 30 years of excellence went to Emirates Airline
