Taichung City, the industrial heart of Taiwan's machine tools, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dassault Systèmes, a software publisher specializing in 3D design, 3D digital modeling, and life cycle management solutions. A product, to accelerate the development of the intelligent machine sector in Taichung. This Memorandum of Understanding is a significant first step in developing long-term relationships between the City of Taichung and Dassault Systèmes.

It contributes to the promotion of advanced technologies (industrial software and simulation systems) in Taichung through the sharing of information, software and technologies. The two entities will meet regularly to monitor progress. Through this Memorandum of Understanding, local Taiwan manufacturers will benefit from the Dassault Systèmes simulation software for the processing of aerospace components.

Indeed, Dassault Systèmes, a world-renowned supplier of intelligent machine software, produces CAD / CAM solutions such as Solidworks and CATIA software that are widely used by manufacturers around the world. Dassault's 3D calculation or simulation software is a key technology for intelligent machines. That is why the Taichung Municipality has done everything possible to foster cooperation with Dassault Systèmes, which will accelerate the development of the intelligent machinery sector in the city.

For example, this cooperation with Dassault is part of the new "smart factory" by Victor Taichung, a major machine tool manufacturer, which is expected to generate annual sales of NT $ 6 billion (US $ 189 million ) After 2018. The company expects to invest NT $ 3.5 billion in its Taichung smart factory, which is expected to be completed in 2018. By deploying sensors and other equipment, Victor Taichung hopes to optimize the " Efficiency of manufacturing based on massive data analysis.

Founded in 1970 to help promote foreign trade, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is the foremost non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan. Jointly sponsored by the government, industry associations, and several commercial organizations, TAITRA assists Taiwan businesses and manufacturers with reinforcing their international competitiveness and in coping with the challenges they face in foreign markets.

It score missions are to assist Taiwanese business in developing international market, to collaborate closely with Taiwanese government in trade policy implémentation, to provide buiness consultation service and connect international firms with Taiwanese partners.

This year, TAITRA decides to present the last innovations of several taiwanese companies at  Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace Paris-Le Bourget (SIAE), which takes place between June 19 and June 25 2017.

The presence of Taiwanese companies at the Paris Air Show highlights the technological strengths of Taiwan’s metal industry and machine tools, especially by presenting various « Smart Manufacturing » products and solutions.

Indeed, Taiwan is aiming to become a global manufacturing hub for intelligent machinery and high-end equipment. The event aims to consolidate the competitive advantage of local manufacturing sectors, especially in the aerospace sector.

In aviation industry, Taiwan has both manufacturing and MRO capabilities to supply Airbus, Boeing, and other global aircraft builders. Its output in 2016 totaled US$3.342 billion. With sights set on the global aerospace industry, Taiwan has begun developing intelligent machine models capable of processing intricate designs autonomously. Its ultimate goal is to provide a comprehensive aerospace production supply chain.

In Hall 1, H270- 278, at Paris Air Show 2017 visitors explore the strengths of Taiwan’s aerospace component/part makers, such as Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), National Chungshan Institute of Science and Technology, and National Aerospace Fasteners, as well as the many world-class innovations and technologies from leading Taiwanese machine tool manufacturers like APEC, KOVA, YCM, HONOR SEIKI, TONGTAI, KEN ICHI, etc.

The Paris Air Show is the biggest air show in the world, bringing together the professionals of aeronautics and space. It represents 2,300 international exhibitors, 150,000 trade visitors, 30 national pavilions and nearly 300 official delegations. This is the ideal place for Taiwanese companies to showcase their know-how.
