Daher is exhibiting a Model Year 2017 version of the TBM 930 at this week’s NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, with the very fast aircraft also representing the TBM family’s growing use in commercial flights.
NBAA’s annual U.S. event – which brings together the business aviation community, and is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada – provides an excellent forum for Daher to highlight the TBM’s role as a fast, efficient corporate and charter aircraft. In addition to the TBM’s established presence in U.S. charter operations, the European approval this year of commercial flights with pressurized single-engine turboprop aircraft opens up additional opportunities for the TBM family.
"In the two years since we began promoting TBM-series aircraft for charter and for-hire applications, commercial operators’ interest in single-engine turboprops has steadily risen,” commented Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit. “Today, commercial flights represent a growing share of such aircraft movements when compared to light jets. We believed this is linked to the excellent performance-to-cost ratio of the single-engine turboprop aircraft and its increasing acceptance by the public."
In the past two years, the fleet of commercially-operated TBMs has grown significantly, reaching 21 worldwide. In the United States, the number of Part 135- registered operators using TBMs currently totals 13, flying 16 TBMs across the U.S. – primarily the TBM 850 version.
Chabbert said Daher’s latest TBM aircraft – the TBM 910 and TBM 930 versions – respond to the key priorities of charter operators and their passengers: safe transportation, high-levels of service, and the savings of time and money.

Electronic Stability Protection (ESP) and Under Speed Protection (USP) systems. A stick shaker has now been linked to the USP system.
Another contributor to safety is on-board connectivity that enables wireless transfer of aviation databases from the Garmin Pilot app on mobile devices to the TBM’s integrated flight deck.
This year’s TBM 930 and TBM 910 models also feature the optional AmSafe Seatbelt Airbag, which is integrated in the torso section of 4-point seatbelts at the two cockpit seats. When triggered, the airbag deploys up and away from the seated occupant, providing protection to the head, neck and torso.
The high-level of service aspect is provided by enhanced passenger comfort on the Model Year 2017 TBM 930s and TBM 910s, including a redesigned cabin with backlighted cabin temperature controls, as well as high-power USB charging ports on both sides of the cabin. Among the style changes are new seat cushions, headrests and armrests; along with seat fairings covered with Ultraleather® synthetic fabric material that offers increased longevity.
Three cabin interior harmonies are available: Black Diamond, Beige Luxor and Agate Grey. Brushed aluminum fittings for the main door stair, handrail, pilot door and rear seat side beam are standard, with a polished finish available as an option.
Model Year 2017 TBM 930s and TBM 910s are configured to accommodate the “Elite Privacy” enclosure – a quick-change option that integrates a lavatory area in the TBM’s aft fuselage. It serves as a bench-type seat with a low divider wall when not in use during flight, and converts to a fully private toilet compartment at the touch of a button.
High-level service for TBMs also comes from the benefits of 24/7 service, with field representatives and technical documentation ranked first by Professional Pilot Magazine’s 2017 Product Support survey. This is complemented by TBM aircraft’s “Elite Package,” which includes Daher’s highly-appreciated TBM Care Program (TCP), covering all scheduled maintenance costs for five years or 1,000 hours (whichever comes first).
For the time and money savings aspects, passengers have the advantage of performance and speed provided by the TBM very fast turboprop aircraft, while operators profit from the TCP and Daher’s five-year standard warranty on airframe, engine, avionics and systems – coverage that clearly minimizes the TBM’s operational costs.
