In the days leading up to EBACE 2018 BACA, the Air Charter Association, in co-operation with PrivateFly and TAG Aviation, is organising a charity bike ride around Lake Geneva. “BACA Bikes The Lake” is open for all members of the business aviation industry to participate in and support this inspiring challenge. All sponsorship money raised is to be donated to BACA’s chosen charity for 2018 - fly2help. This is an aviation charity that inspires positive change through the wonders of flight, the charity’s mission statement is “using the power of aviation to change lives”. In essence fly2help provides flights in light aircraft for people coping with challenging situations such as illness, disability, bereavement and isolation.
The route around Lake Geneva is approximately 180 kilometres and riders are scheduled to complete the route over two days, May 27th and 28th. The challenge is open to anyone in aviation who wishes to participate, it is possible to enter as an individual or in teams of up to 5 people. The day 1 leg is planned to be from Geneva to Montreux with an overnight stop there before setting off on the final leg around to Geneva on day 2. The planned finish time in Geneva is for the afternoon of May 28th with some riders going on to finish at Geneva Palexpo, where they will be greeted by colleagues and friends setting up for EBACE.
