Following hard on the heels of EBACE, the African Business Aviation Association, AfBAA, is pleased to announce that ExecuJet South Africa’s Lanseria facility will be the first venue for Africa’s new dedicated business aviation conference, exhibition and static display, AfBAC EXPO.  Gavin Kiggen, Director, ExecuJet Africa and Rady Fahmy, CEO of AfBAA, signed the agreement during this year’s annual convention in Geneva.

When AfBAC EXPO kicks off on 29 November 2017, ExecuJet will welcome international attendees from Africa, and beyond, to its modern, purpose built, facility at Lanseria International Airport. With a total footprint of more than 18000 sqm the facility is well-positioned to accommodate the needs of a one day conference on the 29th November, and two-day exhibition and static display on the 30th November and 1st December.

The 9,000 sqm hangar provides ample space to accommodate the booths of over thirty business aviation suppliers highlighting their latest services. The private apron will host up to twenty aircraft and accompanying marquees, ensuring that OEMs and brokers can make the most of a dedicated environment to showcase their latest models. To add maximum effect for those looking to buy or sell aircraft, demonstration flights will be available on a by appointment basis arranged with vendors in advance.

AfBAA anticipates that attendees will maximise their time by visiting booths, participating in the conference, viewing aircraft, attending up to 16 hours of workshops, and viewing the latest in aircraft technology during the three-day event.

ExecuJet will also be offering delegates the opportunity to take a tour of its FBO, which incorporates a domestic and international lounge, as well as maintenance facilities that house the only EASA approved business aviation MRO in Africa. With ExecuJet operating 53 aircraft for charter from the Lanseria facility the business will also be showcasing a number of their fleet.

“We are thrilled to have secured ExecuJet’s Lanseria facilities as the venue for AfBAC EXPO’s first outing,” said Fahmy. “ExecuJet is a world class organisation, offering the highest quality in professional services, with a reputation that is second to none. To host the first AfBAC EXPO at their South African facility brings a further level of credibility to the event, and gives all participants the confidence to know that they will be welcomed by a facility that truly understands business aviation in Africa.”

Kiggen added, “It’s an honour for us to be the first hosts of the AfBAC EXPO. We are looking forward to supporting the development of the event over the next few years. Our experience in Africa, and internationally, brings another level of knowledge to facilitating the event, and we know that it will appeal to any individual or company that is focused on developing business aviation across the continent.”

ExecuJet is no stranger to managing a busy facility having handled high traffic resulting from numerous sporting events including cricket’s 2009 Indian Premier League and the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when the team handed more than 1430 aircraft, and at its peak arranged space for 187 aircraft to be parked on and around the apron.
