Youth aviation in focus at Helitech International as Aviation Skills Partnership returns to support the Learning & Skills Zone

Helitech International announces the return of the popular Learning & Skills Zone, an area dedicated to covering the career and development opportunities for young people looking to make their way in the rotorcraft industry.

Hosted by Aviation Skills Partnership, (ASP), the focus on youth takes centre stage with a range of talks and activities that highlight what a career is really like in the world of aviation. Using their Inspire, Connect, Train & Achieve model, ASP will promote entry, pathways and frameworks through the industry as well as offering advice, guidance and information for students on how best to engage with potential employers.

The best route to take for pursuing a career in aviation can be somewhat misunderstood with a multitude of roles not often known to many outside the industry. In addition to becoming a pilot, aspiring youngsters can forge a future in engineering and maintenance, cabin crew, airport operations, as well as many more areas across this very diverse sector.

Rebecca Hearn, Helitech International Project Manager, commented; “Securing the future of our industry is of paramount importance – we’re so pleased to be working with ASP again this year to provide a platform to deliver this success and can’t wait to see the results in years to come.”

Building on the success of the past two editions, this year’s event will feature exciting new technology that brings a life in the sky, down into ExCeL London. Augmented reality will allow attendees to interact with a 3D model of a glider putting Gliderfx's Fox in the palm of your hand. Aviation 360 films, through virtual reality headsets can simulate death-defying stunts, all from the comfort of the show. The Youth Aviation app is another place where 360 videos can be viewed.

This year’s edition of the show will also provide the platform for the Rotorcraft Skills Awards 2017. Aimed at recognising organisations and individuals who are committed to improving skills across the rotorcraft sector. This year’s awards will be presented during the show. The awards ceremony will also offer a great networking opportunity, where VIP guests, show visitors and exhibitors will all be in attendance.
