YAO Junchen, Secretary-General of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presided over the opening ceremony, and LIU Gaozhuo, Honorary Chairman of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, delivered the opening speech. Nearly 500 participants from 11 countries including the United States, Canada, Japan and Germany gathered at the scene to participate in the Civil Avionics International Forum. There was a professional sub-forum on the second day, and the peak number of participants reached 700. Airworthiness is the safety standard of civil aircraft. CAI Yong, Deputy Director of the Electronic and Electrical Division of the Shanghai Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Center of CAAC, and Director of the Informatization Office, pointed out that the airworthiness certification in China currently faces two major challenges. One is the challenge brought by the rapid development of new technologies and applications, and the other is the lack of experience of airworthiness certifiers. Faced with these challenges, CAI Yong said that in recent years, the Airworthiness Department has also made a lot of explorations. In 2018, the CAAC Airworthiness Certification Office in COMAC was formally established to try to change the way of supervision. Secondly, the airworthiness division carried out nationwide training on the standardization of airworthiness representative qualification last year to further standardize the operation of airworthiness review.

As one of the most representative industries in the high-tech industry, the independent innovation capability of the aviation industry is particularly important. The forum also launched a heated discussion on topics such as cabin reform and innovation. Florence REUZEAU, Human Factors Executive Expert of Airbus Architecture & Integration in France, stressed that "The most important innovation in human-machine interaction is to consider human factors, because human factors are the end point of technological innovation and the final use of this technology, so human factors need to be paid attention to and integrated into the design aspect."

The two-day forum was a success and attracted relevant government agencies, OEMs, electronic equipment, research institutions of avionics systems, suppliers, as well as relevant universities and enterprises from home and abroad. The forum focused on the airworthiness certification requirements of civil aircraft avionics system, the development and application trend of new avionics technologies, aircraft operational safety, reliability, maintainability, testing and other related issues.

With the theme of innovation, openness, sharing and security, the forum aims at build an international exchange platform for strengthening cooperation. At the same time, on the premise of protecting intellectual property rights, technology exchange and cooperation have been realized. It is expected that more experts and scholars will join in next year to promote the progress and development of civil aviation electronic industry.
