Lufthansa Cargo’s Boeing 777 Freighter, registration code D-ALFE, has starred in a film directed by Thomas Aigner, following its manufacture, being sold and first flight to Frankfurt Airport.
The aircraft, which Lufthansa took delivery of in February 2015, was followed for three months by Aigner’s film team, and is now a star of a DVD called “Seattle – A Plane’s Birth – Coming to Earth”. The DVD contains the film and bonus features. Chief pilot, Claus Richter, and technical pilot of the 777F fleet, Manfred Schridde, flew the aircraft from Boeing’s base in Everett, near Seattle in the US, to Frankfurt.
Richter says: “We are excited to be part of this fantastic production with Lufthansa Cargo”
D-AFLE was the fifth 777F the German carrier took delivery of, arriving at Frankfurt Airport on 12 February.Lufthansa Cargo has five 777Fs in its fleet with the option for five more. Lufthansa Cargo ordered the 777Fs as part of its Lufthansa Cargo 2020 future programme and chose the aircraft for its noise levels and because it says it is the most fuel-efficient freighter in its class.
