TAG Farnborough Airport is Europe’s leading business aviation airport, a key gateway to London and the first business aviation airport in the world to be awarded carbon neutral status. The airport offers bespoke services as well as state-of-the-art facilities and continues to set new standards in the business aviation market.

Record increase in demand

TAG Farnborough Airport is a growing business aviation airport serving customers from around the world, including the Middle East which continues to be an important market. The airport has seen significant growth throughout 2018. For the 11 month period January-November 2018, air traffic movements were up by over 15 per cent compared with the same period last year.

TAG Farnborough Airport currently handles approximately 30,000 flights per annum with approval to increase this number to 50,000 and is equipped to cater for a wide range of aircraft types including Boeing Business Jets and Airbus Corporate Jets. As the only dedicated business aviation airport in the UK, it is specifically designed to offer a one-stop shop for business aviation operators and with 240,000 sq ft of climate-controlled hangar facilities and 1.2m sq ft of ramp space can accommodate both based and transient aircraft.

TAG Farnborough Airport selected as location for new Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. UK Service Centre

TAG Farnborough Airport has been chosen as the location for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation’s London Area Service Centre with a state of the art, purpose-built facility expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2020.

The new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility will include office space, customer areas, shop space and a hangar able to accommodate up to 13 large-cabin aircraft. Significant ramp space will also be included, along with a car parking area. The entire facility is projected to cover approximately 180,000 to 220,000 square feet/16,723 to 20,439 square metres.

“We are delighted that Gulfstream has selected TAG Farnborough Airport as the location for its new MRO. We welcome this investment which will benefit the regional economy and underpin the airport’s role in supporting jobs and economic development.  As Europe’s leading business aviation airport and a London gateway, we are well placed to meet the specific requirements of Gulfstream and its customers,” said Brandon O’Reilly, CEO TAG Farnborough Airport.

TAG Aviation to provide Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ) line maintenance support at TAG Farnborough Airport

As TAG Farnborough Airport continues to see an increase in movements of the Airbus Corporate Jet series (ACJ), TAG Aviation’s Farnborough Maintenance Services Centre (TFMS) is now offering Line Maintenance support services for its Airbus A320 Corporate Jet series customers using the airport. TFMS will be able to provide customers with onsite support, ranging from daily and weekly maintenance checks, to undertaking ad hoc troubleshooting.

TAG Farnborough Airport becomes first carbon neutral business aviation airport in the world

TAG Farnborough Airport has been awarded carbon neutral status, the first business aviation airport in the world to achieve this under Airport Carbon Accreditation run by Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE). To achieve carbon neutral status, an airport must have mapped its carbon emissions, reduced CO2 emissions under its direct control, engaged with others on the airport site to reduce their emissions and invested in responsible and credible programmes to offset residual carbon emissions.

Over the past decade, TAG Farnborough Airport has reduced carbon emissions over which it has direct control by 42 per cent or 2,183 tonnes (2008 carbon emissions: 5,242 tonnes) and over the past 5 years alone has invested over £1 million into energy efficiency projects.

TAG Farnborough Airport leads international FBO polls

TAG Farnborough Airport has once again earned top honours in the annual Aviation International News (AIN) International FBO Survey for 2018, coming first in the ‘Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific’ category. For the 13th year in a row, the airport was also named ‘Best European FBO’ in the 2018 Pro Pilot PRASE Survey.  “This result is a tribute to the high level of professionalism and dedication of all our staff at Farnborough,” said Brandon O’Reilly, CEO TAG Farnborough Airport.  “Following the significant investment to upgrade our terminal facilities, our focus continues to be on delivering the highest standard of service for customers and crew.”
