Residents in Abu Dhabi can expect a thrilling sky show on Thursday as the UK’s Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team or Red Arrows performs over the corniche.
The air show will start at 4pm and will last for 24 minutes featuring a number of different aerobatic manoeuvres by the jets which will see them come as close as six feet to each other.
“The Corniche, which is already hosting a myriad of Yasalam activities, will provide a wonderful, beautiful location to stage a Red Arrows display in Abu Dhabi and the whole team is excited to have the opportunity to perform again in the UAE, where we always have a great response,” said David Montenegro, team leader of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team and Red 1.
“The event in Abu Dhabi is a tangible demonstration of the enduring, positive links between the UAE and the UK,” he added.
The Red Arrows air show comes as part of their biggest overseas tour in a decade, and has seen them visit 17 countries so far. The team of the Red Arrows consists of nine display pilots and more than 100 support personnel.
“Indeed, the Red Arrows’ display of colourful, precision-formation aerobatics showcases British innovation and creativity,” Montenegro said.
