Warbirds Downunder 2015 will feature flying performances from Red Bull Air Race competitors Nigel Lamb and Matt Hall.

Having recently competed against each other in the Red Bull Air Race World Championships, Lamb and Hall will turn their attention to flying warbird aircraft when they head to Temora for the airshow.

Hall, a former Royal Australian Air Force Wing Commander, finished second in the World Championships in 2015, five points behind winner Paul Bonhomme from the UK.

The Australian, who has been a supporter of the Temora Aviation Museum and previously flown WWII Mustangs, says he is exited to be heading to Temora.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to fly a number of different aircraft over the years, from gliders, to fighter jets, to race planes and they are all special in their own way,” Hall said in a statement.

“So too are Warbirds and I am really looking forward to coming to Temora for Warbirds Downunder to get my fix! The aircraft will definitely be the stars of the show that weekend and I feel privileged to be part of it.”

Meanwhile, Lamb ended Red Bull the season in seventh place, having won the championship in 2014.

The Briton, who has previously flown a number of WWII fighter aircraft and was also part of the Breitling Fighters Team, said he was looking forward to returning to Temora, a place he first visited in 1993.

“Temora has a special place in my heart as I was there with the Australian Aerobatic Team some years before the birth of the Aviation Museum,” Lamb said in a statement.

“Over the years, I have been privileged to fly both the Spitfire Mk Vlll and Mk XVl. I flew the Mk XVl in Wanaka a few times before it joined TAM so it’ll be wonderful to be re-acquainted again.

Warbirds Downunder 2015 kicks off with an evening airshow on Friday November 20, followed by a full day airshow the next day. More information can be found on the airshow website.
