AviaAM Leasing, a Warsaw Stock Exchange listed aircraft leasing company, announced that its joint venture with the Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA) – AviaAM Financial Leasing China – has delivered Airbus A321 aircraft to the largest Russian carrier Aeroflot – Russian Airlines.

The recent aircraft delivery is the 5th out of planned 8 under the sale and lease back agreement between Aeroflot and AviaAM Financial Leasing China and was conducted at Hamburg International Airport, Germany. It is the first Airbus A321 type aircraft transferred to the airline with 4 Airbus A320 already delivered in the first half of 2017 with legal assistance and support from DLA Piper.

“China‘s One Belt One Road policy has encouraged a number of business transactions between China and Eurasian nations. Our Joint venture with Chinese state owned investment group HNCA is also a successful example of this trend. Sino-European Joint venture finance companies are now emerging as a new way to finance aircraft acquisitions due to favourable access to funding in China,” comments Domas Girtavicius, CEO of AviaAM Financial Leasing China.

“Volumes of air transportation between the CIS and China continue to grow as countries engage in new partnerships in the fields of trade and tourism. We are happy to support the expansion of the leading carrier’s operations with ex-factory aircraft,” comments Tadas Goberis, Chairman of the Board and CEO of AviaAM Leasing.

The newly delivered Airbus A321 has a seat configuration of 16 business and 167 economic seats and will start conducting scheduled flights on Aeroflot routes immediately. The Russian flag carrier will operate the aircraft for the next 12 years.
