Turkish Airlines nine months 2015 consolidated financial statements were reported to Borsa Istanbul. According to the audited IFRS USD financial statements, compared to the same period of 2014, Turkish Airlines sales revenue decreased by 6 percent and stood at 8 billion 54 million USD. Turkish Airlines disclosed an operating profit of 1 billion 27 million USD and a net profit of 877 million USD, outperforming the first nine months of 2014 by 29 percent and 21 percent respectively.
Pointing to the operational cash generation ability, Turkish Airlines EBITDAR margin for the nine months of 2015 increased 5.5 percentage points and stood at 26.2 percent. With these financial results the company strenghtened its place among the most profitable airlines in the world.
In the first nine months of 2015 Turkish Airlines realised a capacity increase of 12,6 percent (available seat km) and carried 46.5 milllion passengers on its 341 thousand flights with a load factor of 79 percent.
Selected the “Best Airline in Europe” for the fifth time in a row, today Turkish Airlines flies to 50 domestic and 233 international destinations, a total of 283 destinations in 111 countries including routes inaugrated in 2015 such as San Francisco, Miami and Maputo. Having one of the youngest airline fleet in the world Turkish Airlines now operates 297 aircraft comprising 71 wide body, 216 narrow body and 10 cargo aircraft.
