AFI KLM E&M and fast growing leisure airline Jet2.com have signed an engine maintenance contract for the UK carrier’s Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft. The agreement covers engine repairs, on-site and on-wing assistance, as well as an engine leasing option.
Two quick-turn repairs already carried out
The global specialist for CFM56-7 engine maintenance, AFI KLM E&M was able to demonstrate its ability to support Jet2.com in all circumstances thanks to the powerful commitment of its engineering staff. In addition, the completion of quick-turn shop-visits on two of Jet2.com’s recent acquisitions at Schiphol in less than a month, and before negotiations on the overall contract were finalized ultimately convinced the carrier. AFI KLM E&M’s adaptiveness® and understanding of the requirements and constraints of an airline helped facilitate and secure Jet2.com’s operations.
Jet2.com Executive Chairman Philip Meeson said: “AFI KLM E&M convinced us of its technical expertise on the 737-800 NG and its ability to help us deliver the essential reliability our customers expect of us.”
For its part, AFI KLM E&M is extremely pleased to enter into a long-term relationship with a client offering substantial growth potential, whose fleet plan is growing steadily. Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M, added: “We are delighted and honoured to have won the trust of this dynamic young airline and look forward to supporting it effectively and to maintaining our on-going relationship.”
