After signing a new General Maintenance Agreement with Avolon Caerdav successfully completed a first transition check on an Airbus A320 in readiness for operation in Spain. The aircraft, which previously flew in Asia, underwent an extensive transition process which included a comprehensive airframe maintenance check, alongside the scheduled replacement of engine number two, following a full boroscope inspection – all in readiness to enter service with Barcelona-based low-cost carrier, Volotea.
Philip Swanson, Business Development Director at Caerdav stated: “Caerdav is proud of the quality of maintenance and the level of efficiency we consistently deliver to our customers, and we are keen to continue showcasing these capabilities to Avolon in the future. This new agreement is a significant step towards Caerdav being recognised as a trusted airframe MRO partner for Avolon and the wider leasing community.”
Caerdav’s St. Athan location in the UK provides a convenient and ultra-accessible MRO facility for Avolon’s 1,000-plus aircraft portfolio. Specialising in Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, Caerdav provides comprehensive and cost-effective end of lease, entry into service and redelivery checks, in addition to aircraft transitions, as and when required.
The MRO’s flexible approach was a key factor in the deal, with the team able to tackle a wide range of unforeseen tasks in-house, highlighting how the company can deliver a truly bespoke service.
Additional aircraft may be sent to Caerdav for work when required, calling on the company’s extensive heavy maintenance experience and in-house back shops, including non-destructive testing, composite repairs, paint restoration and repair, and heat treatments.
Avolon provides more than 140 airlines and operators worldwide with access to a large fleet of young, modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
