With an agreement from the renowned engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada for maintenance, repair and overhaul of Fan Cases, FACC is developing into a full component repair service provider in the engine sector, from development and production to maintenance of engine components. The agreement covers the repair and overhaul of specific Fan Cases related to P&WC’s PW800 Turbofan Engines. For FACC, this agreement with P&WC represents an important milestone, as the company is now evolving into a full component service provider in addition to the production of engine components. The multi-year contract has a high value for FACC.
FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger commented on the significance of the agreement: "P&WC is a global leader in the manufacture and aftermarket support of aircraft engines. We are very pleased to take our collaboration with this very important customer to a new level and also to establish ourselves as a provider in the MRO sector."
The engine fan cases overhauls will take place at FACC's sites in Upper Austria, which have a high level of expertise in the production and maintenance of high-tech components in composite construction. The engine component repairs began in September.
Since the establishment of Aftermarket Services business unit in 2018, FACC AG has established itself as a high-performance and reliable partner to the aviation industry and airlines worldwide in the repair, maintenance, servicing and modernization of aircraft. The agreement signed with P&WC will further expand this market position. FACC AG is the only company in Austria to be certified according to the world's highest quality standard for maintenance companies (EN9110), as are the company's locations in Montreal (Canada) and Wichita (USA). The global demand for service and repair services will increase rapidly in the coming years. As early as 2030, the global market will be worth over $180 billion, compared with around $70 billion at the moment.
