Aerobility announced a new partnership with Flynqy Pilot Training - a flight training school based at Cornwall Airport Newquay. This exciting collaboration represents a major step forward in making aviation more accessible across the Southwest. Cornwall Airport Newquay provides an ideal base for this partnership, helping to serve a region with limited access to adapted aviation opportunities for those with disabilities. With its coastal location and growing facilities, the airport is now positioned to become a hub for accessible flight training, trial flights, and aviation experiences for the disabled community in the Southwest.

Andrew Boomer, Operations Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, commented: “We are proud to welcome this partnership between Aerobility and Flynqy Pilot Training to Cornwall Airport Newquay. Making aviation more inclusive is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility, and we’re excited to support a project that brings real change and opportunity to people living with disabilities in Cornwall and the Southwest. This collaboration will help build a more inclusive future for general aviation in the region and reflects our broader efforts to ensure that the airport serves every member of our community.”

Together, Aerobility and Flynqy Pilot Training have worked to support each other and nurture their new partnership. In the past year, Aerobility has assisted Flynqy Pilot Training on its journey to become a partner flight school. Flynqy Pilot Training is currently working hard to introduce adaptations to its aircraft with accessibility modifications tailored for those with limb differences and reduced mobility. These adaptions will allow more people to experience the freedom and confidence that flying can bring. The Flynqy team will also undergo specialist training in the use of hoisting equipment, ensuring safe and dignified access to aircraft for individuals who require assistance. This training marks just the beginning of an ongoing commitment to improve accessibility on site at Cornwall Airport Newquay.

Zara Dinnacombe and George Weller, who recently took over as directors of Flynqy Pilot Training in April 2025, said: " Following a very successful joint event last August, we’re excited to announce our new partnership with the highly experienced and dedicated teams at both Aerobility and Cornwall Airport Newquay, which will bring adaptive and inclusive aviation opportunities to our local community year-round. Aerobility is an inspiring and passionate charity dedicated to making a difference to the lives of people living with disabilities, allowing them to try something new and empowering them to realise their true capabilities. We’re incredibly proud to be joining the Aerobility family and to bring accessible aviation opportunities to Cornwall and Devon."

Al Rosser, Aerobility’s Chief Flying Instructor stated: "Our partnership with Flynqy Pilot training represents a vital expansion of our charitable mission. It allows us to reach even more people who can benefit from the euphoric power of flight. We’re really excited to help make aviation accessible to people living with a disability in the Southwest. In time, we will look to offer our successful junior courses and scholarships so they can be accessed through Flynqy pilot training, ensuring our participants can benefit from the many amazing opportunities that aviation can offer.”

Joining Tatenhill Airfield, Lydd Airport and Blackbushe Airport, Cornwall Airport Newquay will become Aerobility’s fourth site across the UK to offer accessible aviation services under its umbrella. Flynqy Pilot Training and Aerobility look forward to welcoming the local community to learn more about accessible aviation and to experience first-hand what is now possible thanks to this exciting new partnership.
