Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. established the Dan D. Nale Engineering Scholarship Endowment Fund for students who are pursuing degrees in civil, mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering.
“We are grateful to Dan for his generosity and support of our industry’s future workforce,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “During his career here, Dan made a significant contribution to Gulfstream’s legacy of innovation, and now that impact is even stronger thanks to this scholarship endowment.”
Nale retired as Gulfstream’s senior vice president of Programs, Engineering and Test in April after more than 30 years with the company. He now works as an engineering professor at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
“Education has long been a priority for me and my family,” said Nale, who earned a doctorate in engineering from the University of South Carolina. “I am honored to work with Gulfstream to help future generations of engineers get the education they need to be successful in this industry.”
Nale began his Gulfstream career as a structural analysis engineer in 1984 and held positions of increasing responsibility in the company’s engineering organization. He was appointed senior vice president in 2013. During his tenure at Gulfstream, Nale worked on the Gulfstream GIVTM and GVTM programs; midcabin programs, including the Gulfstream G280TM; and the development and entry into service of the all-new Gulfstream G500TM and Gulfstream G600TM.
The scholarship is open to dependents of Gulfstream employees who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering.
