In a strategic move to provide flight training for Northern Europe,Sevenair Academy has partnered with Icelandic Aviation Training. This collaboration integrates the vast experience of Icelandic Aviation Training’s training and management team, led by seasoned Icelandair Captains, with the advanced flight training capabilities and infrastructure of Sevenair Academy. With this new partnership, Sevenair Academy becomes IAT partner in its ab-initio ATPL program, bringing a unique backdrop for practical flight training, in the premier location of Ponte de Sor, through a bespoke program designed to meet the evolving needs of aspiring pilots from Iceland and the broader Nordic region.

IAT counts on the experience of Icelandair airline captains, with more than 30 years of experience in the field, widely known for their APS MCC and Type Rating training. Now, together with Sevenair Academy, IAT cadets will begin their Ground School theoretical training in Iceland, joining then Ponte de Sor base for their flight training portion of the program, before finishing off with 40 hours APS MCC at the CAE Icelandair Full Flight Simulators in Iceland.

Miguel Brandão, Sevenair Academy’s Chief Sales Officer commented: “Partnering with Icelandic Aviation Training testifies to our ability in offering world-class training solutions that are specifically adapted to the demands of the Icelandic and Nordic aviation market. Combining our advanced facilities with the unparalleled expertise of IAT’s training team ensures that our cadets will receive the highest quality training, preparing them for successful careers in aviation.”

Capt. Solvi Thordarson, Head of Training at Icelandic Aviation Training said: “This partnership with Sevenair Academy allows us to offer a unique training experience that combines our strong theoretical foundation in Iceland with practical, hands-on flight training in Portugal. We are excited to provide this holistic approach to training that is perfectly suited to aspiring pilots from Iceland and the Nordic countries.”
