TP Aerospace embarked on a journey to establish an additional wheel and brake maintenance and warehouse facility in Australia. After the final audit, the new facility in Brisbane is officially open. In January 2024, the facility in Brisbane passed the final audit and received approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The audit was successfully completed by CASA on the 17th of January 2024 with no findings, and subsequently the CASA certificate of approval was issued on the 24th of January with the team ready to start production. The first wheel was completed and released to service on February 6th, 2024. A proud moment for the team in Brisbane. Since then, the activity has increased with more and more wheels being serviced.

Regional COO of Oceania, Peter Luthaus, commented:“There are still some minor adjustments required to the setup and processes, however the team and the facility will only grow from here and we look forward to adding more customers in the future.”

Nikolaj Jacobsen, CEO, said: “The agreements with Virgin Australia and customers serviced in our Melbourne facility, drive a need for adding further capacity in Australia. This way we can best support Virgin Australia’s future growth, deliver high-class service to other current Programs customers, while also winning additional market share.”

In the second quarter of 2023, TP Aerospace signed a new 5-year exclusive agreement with longtime customer, Virgin Australia, covering the full fleet of 737NG and 737MAX. Virgin Australia has been partnering with TP Aerospace since 2016, when the company first entered the Australian market with a facility in Melbourne. The new facility in Brisbane is the company’s second establishment in Australia and is a key to supporting the expansion of the partnership with Virgin Australia while also catering to other customers in the region.

The new MRO facility is located at 51 Navigator Place in Hendra. The facility is the 10th MRO establishment in TP Aerospace’s global network.
