Aerospace Turbine Services & Solutions LLC (TS&S Aerospace), a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for aircraft engines in the Middle East, has been selected by SriLankan Airlines to service the Trent 700 engine. TS&S Aerospace is the first independent aviation provider to overhaul a Trent 700 engine, offering SriLankan Airlines a bespoke shop visit structure minimizing expense and ensuring compliance with lessor requirements.

Currently the only independent Trent 700 MRO facility worldwide, TS&S Aerospace works in partnership with major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) including Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation and International Aero Engines and provides a variety of engine maintenance services across multiple major platforms, including Airbus, Boeing and other light aircraft.

As part of its business strategy, TS&S Aerospace works closely with both airlines and lessors and has stayed an independent service provider delivering tailored solutions for the industry.

Commenting on the announcement, Abdul Khaliq Saeed, CEO at TS&S Aerospace, said: “The signing of the contract with SriLankan Airlines signifies a landmark milestone for TS&S Aerospace. The win demonstrates TS&S’s Aerospace’s ever-growing capabilities as a world class MRO provider and offers opportunities for independent lessors, owners and operators to maintain Trent 700 engines. As we build and strengthen our capabilities in Abu Dhabi, we are also supporting the development of the Emirate as a key aviation hub in the region and internationally.”

Captain Suren Ratwatte, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, said: “SriLankan Airlines awarded this contract to Aerospace Turbine Services & Solutions LLC after careful consideration of its capabilities as an MRO, turnaround time and cost, which we feel matches our requirements best. We are confident that this will be a win-win situation for both parties and look forward to a mutually fruitful relationship.”
