ANRA Technologies has been selected by Swiggy, India’s largest online food delivery service, to evaluate the feasibility of middle mile drone delivery for the company’s Instamart grocery delivery service.

ANRA is providing its UTM, MissionManager and Delivery software platforms for this project, integrated with TechEagle drones. The aircraft will be deployed to replenish stocks between seller-run fulfillment centers and from a store to a common customer point. A ground vehicle will pick up orders from the location for final delivery. The pilot program started in Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region), with expansion planned for the wider region.

“This latest project further exemplifies ANRA’s commitment to driving drone innovation with our partner in India,” said Amit Ganjoo, CEO of ANRA Technologies. “As we continue to develop our uncrewed systems technologies, we can demonstrate their commercial viability and increase global adoption, especially within the APAC and EU markets.”

ANRA paved the way for BVLOS drone operations in India with numerous groundbreaking UAS delivery projects starting in June 2021. ANRA powered two of the only three consortiums that obtained required government approvals for medical and food delivery flights and completed over 100 flight hours. The project concluded with 350 sorties, transiting 1,100 kilometers of incident-free operations.

ANRA also participated in the ‘Medicine From The Sky’ project that integrated drone technology to deliver medicines over long distances to India’s hard-to-reach rural areas. ANRA’s delivery software provided a network to enable drone deliveries by managing orders, inventory, and provisioning products – then safely operated the drone within our UTM network.
