AURA AERO became a laureate of France 2030 program, following the call for projects entitled «Producing low-carbon aircraft in France». France aims at being home to the first low-carbon aircraft, AURA AERO approach, reinventing regional mobility with ERA, its modern low-carbon aircraft due to enter in service before 2030, has been recognized and welcomed by the state. As such, AURA AERO will receive a significant financial support of just over 13.2 million € which will help cover part of the development costs of the ERA program, whose final design, avionics and propelling system was revealed last May, a few days before Paris Air Show.
Jérémy CAUSSADE, President and co-founder of AURA AERO, commented: “We are very proud to have been selected among the laureates of the France 2030 program. This is for us an additional mark of confidence, the proof that our approach is the right one and that our aircraft contribute to decarbonizing aviation. The support of France 2030, through BpiFrance, will enable us to accelerate ERA’s development process!”
This new eco-responsible 19-seater aircraft, propelled by 8 electric engines, addresses the environmental challenges of the 21st century. It reduces C02 emissions very significantly, by up to 80% compared to thermal aircraft in the same category, and makes regional connectivity viable again, thanks to its low operational costs. A dozen airlines and operators have selected ERA and 500 aircraft have already been pre-ordered, representing a value of 7.5 Bn €.
Launched by French President in 2021, France 2030 aims at accelerating the transformation of key-sectors in French economy through innovation and positioning France not only as a player but also as a leader of the world of tomorrow. The objective being to foster new players and new sectors by dedicating 50% of resources to emerging actors. With 54 Bn€ invested by 2030, the France 2030 program is 5 times more important than the 3rd investment program for the future, initiated in 2017.
