Diamond Aircraft and AirMax Patrol LLC jointly announce the award of exclusive DA62 MPP U.S. distributor status to AirMax Patrol. Based in Reno, Nevada, AirMax will be promoting sales and mission integration of the DA62 MPP aircraft to Airborne Law Enforcement agencies, search and rescue operators, and aerial survey clients throughout the United States.

AirMax was founded by John Nielsen, a retired California Highway Patrol Officer/Pilot with more than 30 years of service, including 24 years in the Air Operations Division and over 14,000 logged flight hours as Pilot in Command. John is widely recognized as a pioneer in the U.S. airborne law enforcement community — a veteran ALEA instructor and, a decade ago, co-founder of one of the nation’s most recognized ALE aircraft integration firms. He brings that proven track record to AirMax Patrol, which he leads alongside his brother and partner, Steve Nielsen.

John Nielsen, AirMax CEO commented: “My brother and I are both passionate about communities made better and safer through smart investments in technology. When done well, locally deployed, airborne technologies serve that goal with a multiplying force. That’s why we started AirMax Patrol, and that’s why we are partnering with Diamond. Their DA62 MPP is, in my view, the best aircraft on the market for the ALE community — combining speed, range, payload, and mission-ready design at a price point and operating cost no competing platform can match.”

Steve Nielsen brings 35 years of municipal financing experience, having helped his municipal clients capture over $400 million in federal subsidies or grants to offset the purchase of more than $800 million of essential government assets. “AirMax stands ready assist our clients finance the purchase of their DA62 MPP, spreading the entire cost of the purchase over a 10-year period, with payments that fit within their budget appropriation, qualifying for a low, tax-exempt interest rate, and – possibly - can be offset by available grant programs,” he said.

Jerome Berg, Sales Manager Diamond Special Mission Aircraft at Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH, said: “We are proud to collaborate with AirMax as our distributor, leveraging John Nielsen’s extensive experience and proven success in the U.S. Airborne Law Enforcement and government surveillance markets. AirMax brings the operational insight, customer understanding, and public‑sector procurement expertise that perfectly align with the requirements of the DA62 MPP program. The DA62 MPP represents a new standard in modern airborne surveillance, offering advanced multi‑sensor mission capability, state‑of‑the‑art avionics, highly efficient and quiet Jet‑A engines, exceptional handling characteristics, and a spacious, flexible cabin designed for demanding special‑mission operations.”
