Embraer announced the extension of the Flight Hour Pool Program with Japan Airlines for J-AIR’s growing fleet of E170s and E190s, which currently stand at 20 aircraft. The pool agreement, for up to ten years, covers more than 300 part numbers for J-AIR’s entire E-Jets fleet. J-AIR currently operates 17 E170s and three E190s. The third E190 commenced revenue service at the start of September.

“In our operations where reliability is key, Embraer’s Pool Program gives us an assurance of materials and services support, at any time and at any place, and more importantly at a predictable cost,” said Tetsuya Onuki, President of J-AIR Corporation. “Embraer has been a dependable partner over the years and we count on their support as we enter the next phase of E170 and E190 operations.”

“J-AIR’s emphasis on excellence drives us to do our best,” said Johann Bordais, Vice President, Services & Support, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “Our team is committed to delivering a comprehensive support system, by way of the value-added Original Aircraft Manufacturer Pool Program, which ensures that J-AIR’s schedule performance remains one of the highest. This will continue supporting their already cost-effective operations and keep their passengers satisfied.”

Embraer’s Flight Hour Pool Program, which is currently supporting more than thirty airlines worldwide, is designed to minimize airlines’ up-front investment in high-value repairable inventories and resources, while taking advantage of Embraer’s technical expertise and its vast component service provider network. The results are a significant savings on repair and inventory carrying costs, reduction in warehousing space requirements that virtually eliminates the need for repair management resources, and ultimately, guaranteed performance levels.
