On July 8, Tecnam participated in the official inauguration of new terminal at Rome Urbe Airport, an event hosted by Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) and ENAC Servizi to present the first routes of the new Regional Air Mobility project. Conceived by ENAC and its in-house company Enac Servizi, the Regional Air Mobility project aims to promote short-haul mobility fully integrated with other transportation systems. The objective is to create a flexible, widespread national network that improves connectivity between territories and broadens access to mobility. Regional Air Mobility terminal concept evolves from a simple transit facility into a gateway to the regions, fostering new air-to-air intermodality scenarios.
To showcase the ideal solutions for these new routes, Tecnam presented two aircraft on the Urbe Airport tarmac, drawing significant attention and appreciation from the attendees. The static display featured a P2012 VIP, a designated luxury and executive transport aircraft, alongside a standard P2012 Traveller equipped in a 9-seat commuter configuration.
Tecnam, CEO Paolo Pascale commented: “Altair is an independent spin-off of Tecnam that primarily provides comprehensive maintenance and aviation services.Among its future objectives is the launch of a regional airline. It currently operates a helicopter and, regulations permitting, will soon operate with our P2012 Traveller aircraft. ENAC Servizi is completing a fantastic 1,400-meter asphalt runway at the Capua airport,” Pascale added. “Soon we will also have new parking areas, hangars, and a terminal. This will breathe new life into the Capua hub, where countless aircraft will take off, bringing new ideas, businesses, and employment. Capua is set to become a fundamental reference point for European General Aviation in Southern Italy and the Campania region.
P2012 is our flagship aircraft, specifically designed and engineered to meet the exact needs of regional transport, just like the network planned for Italy. This aircraft is successfully exported worldwide—across Europe, the United States, Alaska, South America, the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand. Tecnam is ready to do its part for Italy’s Regional Air Mobility. We have the airport network, the infrastructure, the skills, the aircraft, and a shared vision. Now, we must work together to quickly develop and launch this project, which I am certain will be a great success for the country.”

Marco Trombetti, Sole Director of ENAC Servizi, stated: “The development of Regional Air Mobility represents a strategic opportunity to evolve the Italian aviation system, creating a more connected, sustainable, and integrated model of mobility capable of responding to the needs of territories and communities. Enac Servizi is contributing to this vision through the enhancement of a network of territorial airports designed to become effective platforms for regional connectivity, innovation, and technological development. In this framework, Capua Airport plays a key role as one of the infrastructures enabling this new mobility model. The investments underway, including the new runway, terminal, and operational facilities, will strengthen its ability to support the future growth of regional aviation, fostering new connections, industrial opportunities, research, and training activities. Our goal is to develop an integrated airport network capable of generating public value and supporting the next generation of sustainable air transport in Italy.”
