The Upper Austrian aerospace group FACC will not only be presenting its innovative services, but will also be showcasing its new "Lip Seals" for the first time at the MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore. The polyurethane seals replace the silicone seals of the Embraer 170/175 and 190/195 aircraft families. Airlines benefit from lower maintenance costs due to longer replacement intervals.

The MRO Asia-Pacific is a high-profile event of the maintenance, repair and overhaul sector of the commercial aviation industry in Asia. This year, FACC will be attending as an exhibitor for the first time in this region. More than 5000 international experts visit the trade fair each year to keep up-to-date on the latest developments in the industry. At the MRO Asia-Pacific, FACC will not only be presenting its services, but will also be unveiling the new "Lip Seals" used to seal the flap track fairings of Embraer short-haul aircraft. Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC, comments on this as follows: “Our presence at trade fairs increases the brand awareness of FACC Aftermarket Services within our new customer group of airlines and maintenance companies. Presenting our latest product in Singapore is a great advantage since the Asian continent in particular will account for a larger share of the overall market in the future. We are anticipating a positive development of this business segment.”

FACC is a one-stop composite shop

The FACC Aftermarket Services - Repair Refurbish Replace segment is an important economic pillar for FACC. As a one-stop composite shop, the technology group is an important partner to airlines, maintenance companies and OEMs all over the world. FACC's MRO experts are based at three locations: Ried im Innkreis, Wichita and Montreal. The international team represents FACC at various trade fairs, for instance at the MRO Americas in Atlanta in mid-April, and will also be exhibiting at the MRO Europe in London.

The range of services includes modifications of aircraft components during flight operations, fast and efficient repairs of defective structural aircraft components, cabin refurbishments and the modernization of airliners and business jets. “We guarantee peace of mind - if you give us a call, you can put your problem to rest as we will quickly find and implement the right solution. We operate according to our three values: agility, flexibility and simplicity,” explains Christian Mundigler, Vice President FACC Aftermarket Services.

Lip Seals for Embraer aircraft models

The new Lip Seals for the Embraer 170/175 and 190/195 forward flap track fairings are made of polyurethane, which means that they can withstand wind erosion considerably longer than silicone seals. This will allow the operators of more than 1200 Embraer jets to cut maintenance costs due to longer replacement intervals. In addition, FACC offers airlines a full 18-month warranty or a proportionate warranty for up to 36 months as an additional benefit. The high quality of the seals is also demonstrated by the fact that they have been tried and tested on the A380 and A330 models for more than 10 years.
