Bell Textron has completed the delivery of Global Medical Response’s first IFR-configured Bell 407GXi, marking the beginning of 24 anticipated aircraft deliveries to the air medical service operator.
Lane Evans, Managing Director of North America Sales, Bell commented: “Bell is proud to deliver the first aircraft in the series to Global Medical Response, highlighting a significant milestone in our relationship and reinforcing our commitment to being the premier HEMS mission partner. We are confident that the IFR-configured Bell 407GXi platform will enhance Global Medical Responses’ operations and its ability to serve more patients in need.”
Nick Loporcaro, president and Chief Executive Officer, Global Medical Response stated: “Global Medical Response is excited to welcome our first IFR-configured Bell 407GXi to our EMS family. We are proud to bring this new design not only to our patients but also to our crews, who save lives in the air and on the ground each and every day.”
Daniel Sweeza, National President of Air Operations for Global Medical Response said: “We are thankful for our long-standing relationship with Bell and their commitment to our critical health care work in communities across the country. The addition of the Bell 407GXi to our fleet will enable our teams to continue to reach patients who need us and provide the critical care we’re known for—from urban centers to rural communities and even disaster zones.”
In November 2024, Bell announced the signed purchase agreement for fifteen Bell 407GXis outfitted with IFR configuration kits with an option to purchase nine additional aircraft for Global Medical Response, bringing its total fleet to 250 Bell helicopters. With operations established in all 50 U.S. states and internationally, Global Medical Response plans to use the new aircraft fleet to extend its reach even further.
Delivering impressive performance and fuel efficiency with the ability to cruise at 133 kts (246 km/h), the Bell 407GXi remains one of the top platforms for air medical agencies located throughout the world. With single-pilot IFR capability and adjustable cabin space, the Bell 407GXi allows operators to perform in demanding environments while carrying essential medical equipment needed during emergency missions.
