Honeywell Aerospace received the Distinguished Institution award from the American Institution of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) during an awards banquet in Prague, Czech Republic. The award is presented each year as part of the annual AIAA Digital Avionics Systems Conference, which Honeywell has supported for nearly two decades. Recognizing one organization each year, AIAA presents the award based on the group's outstanding achievements and invaluable contributions that address national aviation priorities.

"On behalf of the AIAA and the Digital Avionics Technical Committee, we are honored to recognize Honeywell Aerospace with the Distinguished Institution award," said Thomas Redling, vice chair, AIAA Digital Avionics Technical Committee. "Honeywell's dedication to the organization and its technologies, including its cockpit displays and flight management systems, have made a significant impact on enhancing safety and air traffic management."

Honeywell was selected for the award based on its continued support of AIAA through dedicated volunteers, sponsorships and exhibits. Honeywell's commitment to addressing national aerospace priorities through research, technology development and creating critical safety technologies also contributed to its selection for this award. Honeywell is largely recognized by its aerospace safety technologies, including its flight management systems, inertial navigation systems, Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems and Ground Proximity Warning Systems.

"Honeywell is honored to be recognized with the Distinguished Institution award," said Bob Smith, vice president and chief technology officer, Honeywell Aerospace and AIAA Fellow. "We are committed to supporting the pursuit of excellence with AIAA by contributing and sharing critical aerospace safety technologies for the industry."
