MTU Aero Engines will be presenting its passion for engines at the Dubai Airshow.  The company will be highlighting its full-spectrum of expertise at booth #830, from innovative commercial propulsion concepts like the Flying Fuel Cell to in-service engines like the an EJ200 engine that powers the military aircraft Eurofighter Typhoon as well as a comprehensive multimedia exhibit of its maintenance, repair and overhaul portfolio.

The Middle East holds significant strategic value for MTU – not only as a center for forward-looking technologies and sustainable innovations, but also as a dynamic and expanding aviation hub with distinct maintenance requirements.”

MTU Aero Engines is working steadily and with determination on its Flying Fuel Cell. It has reached some important milestones over the past months: The design for the company’s Flying Fuel CellTM has been nailed down, stack manufacturing for the demonstrator has started, the eMoSys electric motor was successfully tested for the first time, and the first test cell went into operation in Munich. Beyond this, MTU Aero Engines is leading the Clean Aviation technology project HEROPS (Hydrogen-Electric Zero Emission Propulsion System). Launched in early 2024, HEROPS aims to develop innovative technologies for a climate-neutral, hydrogen-powered electric powertrain based on MTU’s FFC that will be able to power regional airplanes starting in 2035.

Furthermore, MTU’s MRO team will be there to answer any questions on the MTU Maintenance product and service spectrum, including asset management and engine leasing the over 30 engine types it maintains. MTU Maintenance ranks among the top three providers of aftermarket services worldwide and has over 30 engine types in its portfolio. It draws on more than 45 years of experience and has handled over 25,000 shop visits. Through its global service network, the company offers guaranteed customer proximity and has a presence in all important growth regions including the Middle East, having established a representative office in Dubai in 2020. The office houses a team that includes MRO, leasing and asset management experts.
