RECARO Aircraft Seating announced seat production for LOT Polish Airlines will take place exclusively at the RECARO Aircraft Seating Poland facility – specifically for the retrofit of LOT’s B787-8 Economy Class seats to the R3, and for the incorporation of the R2 economy class seat in their B737-MAX8 and Regional Jet Fleet, as announced during the Paris Air Show.
Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines commented: “Choosing RECARO seats for LOT’s new aircraft is a decision based on passenger comfort, quality, and convenience. Importantly, they are made in Poland. Producing the seats in Świebodzin supports jobs in Poland and is a great example of successful international cooperation with strong local roots.”
Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding stated: “This is a proud moment for RECARO as we advance to the next stage of our partnership with LOT Polish Airlines. The ability to produce seating solutions, such as the R2, locally for one of our customers speaks volumes about our commitment to customer satisfaction, aligning with the goals our customers pursue, and fostering economic growth in the regions we reside in.”
This domestic production aligns with LOT’s commitment to high-quality, locally produced aviation solutions and with the RECARO strategy of ‘in the region for the region’ which refers to the location of manufacturing facilities in key areas around the globe. By focusing production at the Poland facility, it showcases the flexibility of RECARO production across sites and reinforces LOT’s operational strategy.
The newly announced R2 seats for the B737-MAX8 and Regional Jet Fleet will feature genuine leather dress covers in the LOT blue along with the airline’s insignia embroidered on a small backrest seam tag. Comfort features include a 6-way adjustable headrest and a 4 inches recline for B737-MAX8, comfort cushions, BYOD holders, and Astronics high-power USB-C ports.
