Russian Helicopters won yet another tender to supply aviation inventory for the Mi-8/17 helicopters belonging to the Air Force of Peru.  The contract is expected to be signed in September 2016. Deliveries will take place early 2017.

“The victory in yet another Peruvian tender by Russian Helicopters proves that more and more operators choose to buy spare parts and components directly from the helicopter manufacturer.  It helps to combat the use of counterfeit spare parts in helicopter repairs, to keep the operator’s fleet in continuous readiness and it boosts flight safety.  That’s why we consider this to be a breakthrough in the Peruvian market in terms of aftersales services,” said Igor Chechikov, Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO for Aftersales Service.

Russian Helicopters concluded the first firm orders with Peru to supply aviation inventory for the Mi-35 helicopters in July 2016.

The fleet of Russian-made helicopters in Peru is one of the biggest in the Western Hemisphere. The Mi-8/17 and Mi-24/35 helicopters owned by the Peruvian Air Force provide transportation and fire support for the government forces fighting against drug trafficking and illegal mining operations.

The Peruvian side plans to have a number of additional tenders before the end of 2016, in which Russian Helicopters are planning to participate.
