Brazilian airline Azul has chosen Safran Landing Systems’ wheels and carbon brakes for its Airbus A320neo and A350 XWB commercial jets.

With this latest contract, Safran Landing Systems now supplies wheels and carbon brakes to the four leading Brazilian airlines, further strengthening its leadership in the Brazilian market for mainline commercial jets (over 100 seats).

Vincent Mascré, Chief Executive Officer of Safran Landing Systems, said: "We are very honored that Azul has chosen our wheels and carbon brakes for its A320neo and A350 XWB fleets. Our products are based on a carbon composite technology that offers performance widely recognized by our customers."

In addition to their lighter weight and therefore fuel savings, Safran Landing Systems' carbon brakes feature a coating that offers excellent resistance to oxidation. These brakes' thermal qualities guarantee better energy absorption and faster cooling, which means faster turnaround times at airports and higher dispatch reliability.

Flavio Costa, Chief Operating Officer of Azul, added: "Azul is currently posting the highest growth rate of any Brazilian airline. By opting for wheels and brakes from Safran Landing Systems, we have chosen proven reliability and endurance."
