Turkish Airlines has chosen wheels and carbon brakes from Safran Landing Systems for its fleets of 25 Airbus A350-900 and 25 Boeing 787-9 long-range aircraft, set to enter service starting in 2019. The contract was announced during a signing ceremony at the MRO Europe trade show in Amsterdam, attended by Ahmet Bolat Phd., Chief Investment & Technology Officer at Turkish Airlines, and Jean Souêtre, Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Wheels and Brakes, at Safran Landing Systems.

With this latest contract, Safran Landing Systems bolsters its leadership in the market for wheels and brakes on long-range commercial jets. On the Airbus A350, it provides a carbon brake which is the lightest on the market while helping reduce fuel consumption. On the Boeing 787, the company's electric brake saves weight while retaining excellent thermal absorption capacity, higher dispatch reliability, simplified maintenance and longer service life.

Ahmet Bolat, Chief Investment & Technology Officer of Turkish Airlines, said: "We are excited to renew our partnership with Safran Landing Systems. Since 1987, all Turkish Airlines teams have appreciated their innovative products, and the superior performance of their equipment and support services. We have therefore once again chosen Safran Landing Systems wheels and brakes on our Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 planes."

200 Turkish Airlines aircraft."
