Sagem has joined with AOI-Aircraft Factory to offer its Patroller unmanned vehicle to the Egyptian armed forces.

AOI-Aircraft Factory would be responsible for the assembly of the Patroller and provide system support and commissioning.

It also plans to develop a training centre in Egypt to train staff for operation and maintenance of the UAV.

Sagem has not yet sold the Patroller, but it is being offers for France’s tactical UAV competition against Thale’s Watchkeeper.

Sagem said during the Paris air show that the first customer for the Patroller would be France.

Sagem has paired up with Ecarys/Stemme, who provide the aircraft, and Selex ES who provide the imaging radar and avionics equipment.

Egypt is on its way to modernising its military equipment, and is already committing to buying another French aircraft.
