Virgin Australia chief executive John Borghetti is joining the board of bottler Coca-Cola Amatil in December.

It will be Borghetti’s fourth non-Virgin directorship, as he is currently on the board of Energy Australia, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and NSW Customer Advisory Board. He also sits on the Virgin Australia board.

CCA noted Borghetti, who has been in his current role as Virgin chief executive since 2010, had more than 40 years commercial experience in “consumer focused, internationally diversified businesses.

“John brings highly relevant consumer and listed company leadership experience to CCA, including working successfully with large partners and operating across a range of international markets,” CCA chairman David Gonski said in a statement.

“He provides an excellent complement to the skills and backgrounds we have already at our board table.”
