Our sincere congratulations to Mr. Ali Ahmed Alnaqbi on his election the Chairman of the Governing Board - IBAC!

The IBAC Governing Board serves the diverse needs of business aviation across the globe and is involved in all ICAO forums that affect business aviation, in addition to directing the council.

Since 2017 he was holding the position of the Vice Chairman. In a recently held meeting at Las Vegas, the IBAC Board elected Mr. Alnaqbi, who will hold this position for a period of three years effective January 1st, 2020. It is notable that Mr. Alnaqbi is the first Arab ever to be at the helm of affairs of the International Business Aviation Council. He had earlier served as the Treasurer of the IBAC for three years.

“I am honored for this trust by the IBAC Board in being elected as the Board Chairman,” said Mr. Alnaqbi. “This opportunity to guide the business aviation sector not only in the MENA region but also globally is a big responsibility and it is also a perfect synergy with my passion for the industry and previous achievements. No doubt we have long way ahead of us and I look forward to driving the industry forward through IBAC in the next three years in this role.”

Mr. Alnaqbi needs no introduction as his name is well known in the aviation industry. Having served in the business aviation industry for more than 30 years, he gained rich experience in the industry. He founded MEBAA (Middle East & North Africa Business Aviation Association) in 2006, in Dubai; MEBAA represent the Middle East and North Africa region under the IBAC. It forms the ideal platform for the industry leaders in discussing, sharing and decision-making; MEBAA plays an important role in drafting legislation and rules specific to business aviation and it represents the business aviation community to the local aviation authorities. Mr. Alnaqbi is instrumental in driving the business aviation industry in the MENA region to new heights. He has been duly lauded by the Governments in the region for his role and achievements in bringing about safety and efficiency.

The full MEBAA community wishes Mr. Alnaqbi all the success in his new role. His choice for the position becomes perfect fit in driving both the IBAC (at global level) and MEBAA (at the MENA region) with his visionary expertise to bring about all-round success for the business aviation industry.
