Originally, 2 pioneers passionate about helicopters
Jean Capoulade, Roland Fraissinet: two visionary men who were among the first to grasp the tremendous perspectives offered by the helicopter.
In the early 1970s, the first created Hélicap in the Paris region, while a decade or so later, the second founded Secours Aérien Français (SAF) in Savoie. The two companies are developing in parallel by diversifying their services, one putting itself more particularly at the service of SMUR, the other relying on its experience of mountain rescue.
These almost parallel trajectories will eventually come together in 2006 to give birth to the new SAF Group. A group that shares the values shared from the start:
